Tom's Halls originated as a test project in 2007 to develop a simple 2D platform game engine using Javascript, CSS, and strict XHTML. I also wanted to emulate the feel of some classic 80's platform games such as Jet Set Willy, Montezuma's Revenge, and Dynamite Dan, and to see how far I could take this in a web context.
The original version featured only 2 screens. Eventually, however, I was harassed into advancing the game further....
During development of this game I have tried to adhere to W3C web standards. It has been tested in Firefox 3.6, Chrome 4.1, Opera 9.62, and IE8 (slow! Avoid!) on PC. Other browsers cannot be vouched for!
